US-company TEGA announced that it has won exclusive right to blend and distribute the hydrocarbon refrigerants R441A and R443A throughout Europe.
TEGA, part of the Linde Group, is working towards making its blending facility in Germany ETL safety certified, which it expects to be in place by the end of May.
R441A is a substitute for R134A refrigerant, and R443A is a substitute for R22 refrigerant. R441A and R443A are patented and trademarked refrigerants with a low global warming potential (GWP). The Hawaiian businessman Richard Maruya, of A.S. Trust & Holdings, developed them.
R441A is widely used in vending machines, domestic refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and refrigerated display cases. It is possible that it will be used in automotive air conditioning, transport, heat pumps and split air conditioning system applications soon.
