Bry-air adsorption chiller - heating and cooling

Indian manufacturer, Bry-Air today announced the launch of its 35kW to 1180kW adsorption chillers. The chillers use low-grade waste heat to provide air conditioning and process cooling.

Low-grade heat (50°C - 100°C) is abundant in processing industries. The Bry-Air adsorption chillers use this normally wasted heat to provide cooling using its ‘Energysmart Cooling using Waste Heat’ technology.

Bry-Air licenses the technology from US Company Power Partners, which is new to India.

"Adsorption chillers use energy from waste heat, with negligible electricity consumption, to provide chilled water for process cooling and air conditioning, and they do this with 'green' refrigerant (water) and desiccant (silica gel)," said Deepak Pahwa, Managing Director, Bry-Air (Asia).

In addition, the adsorption chillers use very little electricity; they are quiet and produce very little vibration. Furthermore, they are low maintenance and can last for up to 20 years.

Bry-Air anticipates they will be popular for applications such as in power plants, food and beverages, and in chemical manufacturing. They expect the adsorption chillers will suit applications in offices, hotels and shopping malls.
