HVAC manufacturer, Trane, launched two new small capacity heating, ventilation and air conditioning products for comfort and process cooling this month.
The new chillers extend Trane’s existing chiller range and both use axial fans with scroll compressors. The new products are the CGA air to water chiller and the CXA air to water heat pump.
They replace the previous Trane CGA/CXA range and, for cooling and heating, they are up to 17% more efficient. The chillers’ footprint is nearly a third smaller and they are 5dB quieter than the previous models.
The CGA and CXA models are ideal for the food and drinks processing industries for their cooling applications. They can provide leaving chilled water temperatures to minus 12 degrees.
The chillers meet the new Ecodesign Directive SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) requirements that come into force in September 2015.
Jeff Moe, vice president, product management and marketing for Trane in Europe, Middle East and Africa said:
“The first wave of that innovation drive from Trane was seen only last year when we rolled out six new products in both the air-cooled chiller portfolio and water-cooled chiller portfolio.”
He continued:
“Today marks the continuation of our chiller offensive and it is exciting to remain on the crest of the innovation wave and continue delivering new solutions that fulfil our customers’ requirements and help them meet their business needs.”
The units are now shipping to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
