Being multi-skilled as a mechanical engineer became easier this week with the introduction of the Mechanical to Electrical Conversion Course from Logic4training.
The new course will help mechanical engineers learn skills such as the isolation and termination of a range of cables. The course also includes skills in BS7671, earthing, bonding and fault-finding on single and three phase systems.
Logic4training will also tailor courses to suit specific needs of engineers working in different plant environments if they have at least four people from one company that need training. The course is for industrial mechanical engineers.
Logic4training director, Mark Krull said:
"This new conversion course is ideal for any engineer with a mechanical background looking to branch out and develop their electrical skills, enabling them to operate across the two disciplines, as their role may often demand."
The course runs in two modules over five days, and includes practical training and assessments as follows:
• Isolation
• Inverters and motors
• 3 phase isolation
• Working safely
• Termination of a range of cables
• Plugs and sockets
• Replacing and resetting protective devices
• Replacing motors and sensors on a like-for-like basis
