solar refrigeration - heating and cooling

Angelo Aquilina Refrigeration Supplies launched its solar refrigeration technology that, at its peak, can save up to 70% on electrical costs.

The Industrial Solar Cool System uses solar energy to power the refrigeration unit, which the company installed into the Golden Harvest Bakery on the Mediterranean island.

Justin Aquilina, general manager of Angelo Aquilina Refrigeration Supplies at the launch said:

“Given the data obtained from various industries where this technology has been installed, the energy savings are substantial. Apart from reducing a company’s energy overhead, the new technology helps to reduce ongoing equipment maintenance costs, extends the lifespan of the equipment and reduces C02 emissions, together with a good return on investment that is considerably low.”

He continued:

“The energy absorbed by the solar panels installed with this technology helps to boost the stages of the central mechanism, thereby reducing the number of operating compressors, at any one time.

“Given that Malta is blessed with 3000 hours of unbroken sunshine a year, makes this technology extremely cost-effective. In markets where this technology has been tried and tested, it is proving to be pivotal in industry due to the huge energy saving costs. Furthermore the installation of this technology can also help Malta to reach its renewable energy targets.”
