Ecodan Talisker Atlantic Challenge - heating and cooling

Four men in the 'All Beans No Monkeys' rowing boat have picked up sponsorship from Mitsubishi Electric in their bid to row across the Atlantic in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

The 90-day race across the ocean will see the team row around 4,800 km from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua in the Caribbean. The team will be unsupported in the challenge, and will have to collect rainwater on their way.

Team member and Mitsubishi Electric product manager, James Timbs-Harrison, said:

“If you take into account the fact that only 500 people have ever rowed across the Atlantic but over 4,000 have climbed Everest then you can begin to see how tough this challenge really is.”

The other crew members are Liam Browning, Stuart Markland and James Kendall. They depart on 15 December in their boat, named 'Ecodan'.

In the coming months, the team will be raising money for their chosen charities, the RNLI and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The first event where the team's boat will be on display is the BMW PGA Golf Championship at Wentworth in May in the tented village on the Mitsubishi Electric stand.
