BSRIA published the latest version of its Legionnaires’ Disease Risk Assessment guide recently to help buildings and facilities managers keep up to date with carrying out legionella risk assessment.
Legionella bacteria are everywhere. However, they are mainly in water systems in the modern built environment where there are ideal conditions for the disease. To minimise the risk of the disease it is important that regular checks take place. Often, the disease develops in cooling towers, hospitals and care homes.
The latest BSRIA guide is version BG57/2015 which replaces AG20/2000. It contains the latest standards and guidance. The risk assessment guide fits well with BSRIA’s 'Legionnaire’s Disease – Operation and Maintenance Log Book (BG58/2015)' which comes out in April 2015.
